The state of Massachusetts has legalized gay marriages. I don't know all the legal stuff involved, but I believe they'd be the first state to pass this. I don't know what I think about it all, but from a purely social standpoint, I think it's awesome, gays have the same rights as everyone else, so hopefully this continues around the US. To read up on this some, go here... www.csmonitor.com/2003/1121/p13s02-ussc.htmlI wonder how many churches if any will do the services, I think it's pretty safe to guess there wont be any Catholic churches with open doors, just cause the legal documentation can go through, doesn't mean that it will be accepted in some religious circles, but hey, one step at a time I suppose.

I think it's pretty cool... also ironic that my quite possibly least-favorite state (no offense to any Bostonians) would be the one to do it. I think whatever deity is in charge of these things is laughing at me. But it's very cool that *someplace* has done it. Maybe the other states will figure out that heterosexual marriages still work when someone else is allowed to copy them.
