Has anyone noticed how all "courtroom thriller" movies, books, whatevers, all show the defendant as the good guy? I don't think I've ever come across a case in any where the defendant has really been guilty. It kind of annoys me, because then it's like, well, prosecuting attorneys are the bad guys, and a lot of times they're trying to get serious scumbags off the streets. Why doesn't someone write a legal thriller where the defendant is some kind of murderer or something, where the reader is sympathizing with the other side. It'd be really refreshing, if nothing else.

Huh... that's a good point. I'd never really thought of it. Um... Maybe the 'defendant as villain' stories are usually the cop stories?

Hmm, that's an interesting point... could be.
