Can I just add, death to drummers, I had to sit in front of them for two years in middle school, left practice with a headache almost each time, were it not for them, I still might play the trumpet.

LOL! I can sympathize only too much! Our cymbalist really doesn't get along with one of our 2nd chair trumpet, and stands right behind him every day. It would be rather funny, except that I was (before the French horn switch) right beside the entire mess.

There's only one thing worse than a sucky trumpet, and that's a sucky piccolo. My buddy Andy, he's got this girl he's supposedly dating (actually, he's gay, but his parents are the hyper-fundamentalist type and they'd throw him out of the house if they knew, so he's dating her to throw them off the scent) and this girl's like the bottom piccolo player, and when she misses a tuning note.... oh god, it's awful. There's dogs all through town thrashing in pain every day when we tune up. Andy's dating her because she's so fundamentally stupid she's never gonna figure out that he's using her for a coverup.

In my band, they're "those damn perverts" and most of them suck. Yes they do...yes they do..and all the good players are guradating...or playing other instruments and guradating! *cough*you*cough* Thank god for our trombones and other low brass/winds! Even we suck at intentation...but that's okay! We are getting better...I think..... |

Personally, I think I got smarter: it was a hell of a lot dumber to stick around with Mangy Mangeri, Pinky, Slim, and the rest of those bloody idiots. I got smart and picked a section that usually isn't there.

He should have changed to "the larger the brass instrument" and Horn can be in Woodwind and Brass Quartets. Pinky is smart actually...just doesn't have a whole lot of sense...he's just annoying... He can make the Latin teacher yell at him to spot..and that's a leap. |
