Inspired by the District Chorus Audition I just finished
1. Freestyle during rests
2. Two words: Interpretive Dance
3. Hit on the accompaniast
4. When you sign up, use the name of a famous performer in that field (i.e. if you're auditioning for a tenor part, put Placido Domingo, etc. )
5. If you're a guy, dress in drag and audition for a soprano part.
6. If you're a girl, sing everything (sightreading, prepared piece, scales even) down an octave.
7. When you get your sightreading piece, put it on your stand upside down. Attempt to play/sing
8. Chew gum during the audition. Blow bubbles whenever the judge gives you instructions. Be noisy
9. Ask, "How soon will this be over? I have a Lamaze class to get to."
10. Do the entire audition in pantomime. Don't make a sound.

There's a guy in my chorus that actually *could* audition for a soprano part and make it, if it was allowed. He's got a higher range than any of the girls do... Therefore, he's extremely entertaining on days that we don't have much to do.
Of course, me being a bass, I don't think I could manage that.

I know how you could sing that high. ;D Just get my brother's ex to kick ya in the goods, she likes to kick people, a lot.  Also, has anyone tried to sing an entire song mono tone? I imagine that'd fit the list too. Or use a "cartoon" voice, I'm really good at singing like that, though it's hell on the throat if you do it too much. |

Even though I'm in band and not chorus (based off the fact that when I sing, people die)....I might try some for district band next year!
Expect I can't try half of them.
Darn not being in chorus.

Thank the Goddess you're not in chorus... although, come to think of it, you could probably do pretty well in Mixed Chorus. (Do not, and I repeat DO NOT tell Sam I said that! She will kill me)

Yes, I remember what your memory is like... for example, telling you explicitly what NOT to talk about at my house, and that was what you focused on... (still pissed about that)

Not to be OT or anything, but I have to argue w/ your sig, Edgiko... According to that theory, flute players would be *smart*. Take a look in any high-school band, and you're instantly proven wrong.

You're right..but then again..this is from my old band teacher.. he was rather insteresting. Maybe it has to do with flutes outside of high school? I don't know..but I do know of some flutes that are smart... But they are smarter than a low brass player usually. *Insulting oneself is fun!* For some odd reason the band rules bend.... Now my head hurts... |

I don't know *where* you go to school, but at least here, there's no WAY any of the flutes are smarter than low brass. I mean, they're the ones who still think "nacho cheese" is a great joke.
Besides, my b/f is a low brass player, so shut up!

Ya, I'd say Edgiko's and my school is a lot like that. There's a couple possible exceptions, but most of them are brainless balls of fluff... (or in one case, a brainless ball of slut). I think Edgiko's on drugs to say that flutes are smart.

Well, noticed I said SMART not AIRHEADED!
Cause flute players can be smart..it's just their airheaded, and one can be smart and air headed. ^^
